This weekend we had team racing on the schedule during Hjuvik Team Race Cup. The goal was to bring the team together and start sailing as one.
We managed very well and succeeded to win the regatta!
The first day we had five races in the group stage, we succeeded to win them all. We hade some problems with the communication but it got better and better during the day.
The second day started with five races in a group consisting of the six best teams from Saturday. We really got the teamwork going during these matches and won these five matches as well.
The semi final got very intense against the Norwegian worlds team. A lot of team racing tactics were used and we won with two wins against one. We are looking forward to have some training camps together with the Norwegian team and get to know them better before the world championships.
The final was sailed against on of the Swedish European teams. The first match did not go as planed and the opponents managed to win. Before the second match we talk about being more aggressive and act as fast as possible. This talk made a difference because after that the team won all the following matches and therefore the whole regatta.
We are happy with the results and looking forward to more team racing practise, which we plan to do in August. Next up are the regional qualifications for next year’s championships!
Stay tuned for more updates
